December is Kislev, the month of Chanukah at Kinder World. We are gearing up for Chanukah in a big way. All the children are busy learning about the story of Chanukah, the customs, prayers, songs, and foods we eat. Incorporating the arts, science, math and literacy the children are learning and enjoying every minute of every day.
The nursery children are counting, sorting, and matching colored candles and dreydles, pretending to make latkas, and spinning the dreydles to see which letter it lands on. The Pre-K class children are leaering all about the story of Chanukah, working on a wall mural with Maccabee shields, reading and writing the letters on the dreydle, and experimenting with oil, water, glitter, candles, and wax.
