March has been a very busy month at Kinder World with the excitement of Purim, preparations for Pesach, trips, crafts, songs, and a multitude of activities related to the themes. The Kosher Clown was a huge success singing and dancing with the children Magic entertaining and a special guest appearance by Elmo. The children acted out the entire story of Megillat Esther with costumes and props and created beautiful child made Megillot, Groggers, and Shalach Manot.
Pesach quickly came upon us and the Morah's and children jumped right into the story of Pharoah and the Jewish people in Egypt. Baking Matzah, tasting salt water, listening and learning the songs are just some of the fun going on. The children love to cut, paste, and design their own Haggadot, Seder plates, and Matzah covers. All the while integrating match and science concepts with so many opportunities to do so.
Spring arrived as well and with much joy and pleasure the children mixed white into the usual paint colors to create soft pastel colors at the easel. They created a lovely wall mural with flowers, grass and the warm sun. Speaking of the warm sun, the weather has really given the children an opportunity to climb, run, ride, and observe the changes outdoors of the new season.
Purim and Pesach would seem to be enough to keep things popping at Kinder World, however the theme of Community Helpers was part of the Pre-K class curriculum. All the classes truly enjoyed the trip to the post office as well as to the fire station. The teachers followed up with many books, discussions, and learning about many more community helpers.
