Rabbi Mendel Samuels is the Executive Director of Chabad of the Farmington Valley, Connecticut.

He is a popular sought-after lecturer, beloved for his wisdom, sense of humor, and unique ability to inspire others. 

His life was completely changed when his sixth and youngest son was born with Riley Day Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, affecting less than 300 people worldwide. Since then, in addition to lecturing on Jewish theology and mysticism, Rabbi Samuels inspires his audiences with his personal stories of overcoming challenges, and the miracles he and his family experience in caring for their special-needs child.

The Alter Rebbe

This day celebrates the 19th of Kislev, the “Rosh Hashana of Chassidus”. Marking the anniversary of liberation of Rabbi Schneur Zalman, the first Chabad Rebbe, from Czarist imprisonment in 1798. It is an auspicious time to gather together for inspiration, L’chaim, and blessing. For more about the significance of this day click here .

Farbrengen (fɑ:r-breɪng-ɪn) n. 1. Yiddish for “spending time together.” 2. an informal, inspirational gathering where words of Torah are shared and melodies are sung over refreshments and L’chaims.
