With Guest Speaker Rabbi Hillel Zaltzman

From Samarkand, Uzbekistan

Rabbi Zaltzman grew up in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, under the oppressive soviet/communist regime, where he was active in the Chassidic “underground”, upholding Judaism under the dangerous and watchful eyes of the KGB.
He is the author of the bestselling book “Samarkand”, where he takes us back to those perilous days in the former Soviet Union, inspiring his reader with a riveting narrative that is a true testament to heroic Jewish fortitude and perseverance.
Rabbi Zaltzman currently lives in NY, and is the director of “Chamah”, a humanitarian and education organization providing services to thousands of Russian Jews in the former Soviet Union, Israel and the US.
